T-HRECS™ T-FECCS

$1,600.00

NEW! The T-FECCS is the newest addition to the T-HRECS family.  This Temperature and Four Electrode Conductivity Cell Serial (T-FECCS) device has been way too many years in R&D[1], featuring the same High Resolution you know and love as well as:

  • 0-250 mS/cm range with 1% accuracy, 0.01% Stability, 0.001% Resolution over the entire range of operation.
  • 0.1°C Resolution and nlf compensation to EC.T (Temperature Compensated Electrical Conductivity aka Specific Conductance)
  • Low Power consumption (20mA measuring, 30mA transmitting (for LoRa), <1mA quiescent)
  • High sampling frequency (1s with 1 unit on SDI-12 bus, 2s with 2 units, 3s with 3 units, etc)
  • Potted submersible electronics in 1″ diameter IP67 PVC housing, with standard SDI12 cable lengths.
  • Available with
    • SDI-12 output standard.
    • Optional Datalogger (with RTC, 4xD Cell Battery or 12V input, Solar Panel-LiIon optional, LoRa -> LTE telemetry to our Salt Portal data management system)
    • Optional XBee & RS232 for QiQuac Kits with BLE to Android App interface
    • Optional 4-20mA available for larger orders
  • Optional Keller™ embedded Pressure Transducer  (2.5mm resolution over 0-10m) and ventless barometric compensation.
  • Optional Diving Scaup (Patent Pending) weight to keep the sonde submerged in fast moving water
  • Optional ArTIE (Patent Pending) Armoured Thalweg Instrument Enclosure to keep the sonde protected, submerged, with fast moving water in active channels.
  • Compatible with our Salt Portal for processing and managing Salt Dilution measurements, or our WIT for managing hydrometric programs with Maximum Likelihood Rating Curve Development.

Applications

  • Salt Dilution flow measurements
  • Road Salt (Aquatic Health) Monitoring networks
  • Hydropower compliance sites (with AutoSalt or Semi-AutoSalt)
  • Mining compliance and environmental assessment site.
  • Municipality and First Nations Government Water Quality monitoring sites.

Description

T-HRECS™ is a high resolution (14 bit) instrument for measuring Electrical Conductivity and Temperature. We developed this device to increase the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of our salt dilution measurements, thereby lowering the measurement uncertainty or amount of salt required. Devices are galvanically isolated, can operate independently on an external power supply, and can convert serial output to RS232, 4-20 mA, SDI-12, or Zigbee Radio (over >100m).

Why is High Resolution important?

The higher information content of the signal results in a higher SNR. This means that either less salt can be used in the measurement, or a lower uncertainty can be obtained. The higher resolution device has higher information content, therefore higher SNR and lower uncertainty for the same tracer injections. That is one of the reasons we built our own EC instrument. Browse our recent presentations on the Derivation, Uncertainty, and Variance of the Calibration Factor used in Salt Dilution Flow Measurements and Quantifying and Controlling Error in Salt Dilution Flow Measurements.

FEATURES

  • High resolution and stability for low conductivity measurements (0.001 μS/cm resolution and 0.01% of value stability) using Titanium k=0.1 electrodes.
  • High accuracy in EC (1% of value up to 1000 μS/cm), Temperature (0.1 °C) and the derived Temperature Compensated Electrical Conductivity (EC.T) (1% of value up to )
  • Low power consumption during measurement and quiescent period.
  • Accurate temperature compensation using nlf based on EU standard 27888 at 25°C
  • A variety of interfaces: SDI-12, RS232, 4-20mA, ZigBee mesh, SD Datalogging
  • Rugged waterproof design with nylon sheathing on Probe-Transmitter and PVC Shroud on Electrode
  • Galvanically isolated to avoid ground loops and power supply noise
  • Lightning protection and ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD) protection
  • Fast thermal response (<60 seconds to reach 99% ΔT)
  • 3/4” NPT fitting for in-line applications, IP67 for full submersion applications.

APPLICATIONS

  • Developed specifically for Salt Dilution Flow measurements
